Dutch Payments Association roadmap: priorities for the next three years

Payments are the circulatory system of our society and are evolving rapidly. Everyone must be able to keep pace with these developments. That is the common thread running through the Dutch Payments Association’s roadmap of activities for the next three years: maintaining the high quality of collective payments in the Netherlands, making the most of new regulations and innovations, and keeping payments affordable and inclusive for everyone.

Our roadmap explores these themes in more detail and sets out the strategy we envisage, how it translates into our policy and which societal issues it addresses.

An important societal issue that will require considerable attention in the years ahead is the efficient and future-proof organisation of cash infrastructure. Instant Payments and Open Banking will shape harmonised collective innovation at European level.

In the short term, our activities in 2023 will focus, among other things, on improving accessibility and inclusion in payments as digitalisation continues to advance.
