High confidence in Dutch payment system
Published on:
Three-quarters of Dutch households have a high level of confidence in the payment system. This is evident from the annual confidence survey conducted by De Nederlandsche Bank(opens in new window) (DNB) on the financial sector in the Netherlands.

Comments from people surveyed by DNB show that this confidence stems mainly from positive experiences with their day-to-day payments. These payments are usually processed quickly and without any problems. They also cite legislation, supervision and the reliability of payment systems as reasons for their high level of confidence.
At the same time, households are concerned about vulnerability to cyberattacks and technical faults, as payments are becoming increasingly digital.
