One billion cardless debit card payments in a year with smartphones and wearables

The Netherlands recorded its billionth cardless debit card payment of the year in October, made using a smartphone or a wearable. The country is on course for one and a half billion cardless debit card payments over the whole of 2022. Cardless payments now account for 30% of all debit card payments, up from 20% at the start of the year.
