No contactless pickpocketing in Deventer

Reports by the media and police that contactless pickpocketing had allegedly taken place at a busy event in Deventer in mid-December 2018 have fortunately been withdrawn. No mobile contactless payment terminals that could have been misused for this purpose were found, and no victims came forward.
Police in the eastern Netherlands have confirmed this as well.

Not a single case of contactless pickpocketing has occurred since contactless payments became available in the Netherlands.
