Banks introduce necessary security measure for sealbag deposit machines

In addition to measures already taken against explosive attacks on ATMs, banks are immediately limiting the availability of so-called sealbag deposit machines. This temporary measure is necessary for safety reasons. Businesses will still have options for depositing cash.

Sealbag deposit machines are mainly intended for businesses to deposit cash regularly. Several explosive attacks on these machines took place in the past week. Heavy explosives were used, extensive damage was caused and homes had to be temporarily evacuated. The banks and Geldmaat consider this measure necessary to stop these attacks, prevent a recurrence and improve public safety.
