DigiHulplijn also assists with digital banking and payment matters

Published on:

The rapid digitisation of society presents a major challenge for one in six Dutch adults. DigiHulplijn is one of the collective initiatives supporting this group, including with digital banking and payment matters. The free helpline provides telephone assistance to people who struggle with digital services.

DigiHulplijn also receives questions about online banking and electronic payments. The helpline will now work closely with banks, the Dutch Banking Association and the Dutch Payments Association to answer these questions even more effectively. The banking sector and DigiHulplijn will share knowledge and experience about assisting with digital banking and payment matters, so that people with limited digital skills receive knowledgeable and safe support.

Call 0800-1508, Monday to Saturday

DigiHulplijn is available free of charge on 0800-1508 from 08:00 to 22:00, Monday to Friday, and from 09:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays. The helpline answers most questions immediately. If necessary, DigiHulplijn transfers callers to an employee of their bank, for example when they have questions about confidential and personal banking matters. This ensures that an appropriate answer can always be provided.

Partnership

DigiHulplijn was established by the Alliantie Digitaal Samenleven in cooperation with various private, public and civil society organisations. DigiHulplijn employees receive special training to assist with a wide range of internet-related questions. The helpline tries to resolve digital problems immediately and connects callers with support providers in their area. This helps reduce feelings of embarrassment, stress and frustration about digital matters among the target group.

Accessible Banking programme

This improved telephone service for bank customers is part of the ‘Accessible Banking’ programme. Through the programme, banks work with a wide range of public and civil society organisations to make digital banking and payment services more accessible. It also helps raise awareness of the available assistance and support among people who are difficult to reach.
