No digital theft detected at Dutch banks

Dutch banks were aware of the worldwide cyberattacks on banks reported by The New York Times and other media. Banks in the Netherlands investigated and found no reason to believe that they or their account holders had suffered losses. Preventive measures were taken where necessary.

On Valentine’s Day, The New York Times reported that hackers using so-called malware (in Dutch) may have stolen millions of dollars from various banks around the world. Many Dutch media had subsequently reported the story.
