The ECB has appointed Piet Mallekoote as one of the thirty members of the Digital Euro Market Advisory Group. Mallekoote was Managing Director of the Dutch Payments Association until early 2021. The members of the Digital Euro Market Advisory Group are all professionals with a long track record and extensive experience in the euro area’s retail payments market. Piet Mallekoote previously served as Director of Payments at De Nederlandsche Bank, Managing Director of Currence (scheme owner of iDEAL, iDIN, Incassomachtigen, Acceptgiro, Chipknip and PIN) and Managing Director of the Dutch Payments Association, before retiring earlier this year.
