iDEAL to form the foundation of a pan-European payment platform
Currence iDEAL has announced that it will become part of EPI, the European Payments Initiative backed by more than a dozen leading banks and payment service providers from various EU Member States.

The acquisition by EPI Company recognises the success and importance of iDEAL as the euro area’s largest account-to-account payment method. EPI is developing a pan-European payment method based on instant payments, for which iDEAL will form the foundation. The acquisition means that ABN AMRO and Rabobank will join ING as Dutch participants in EPI.
For Dutch consumers and businesses, the acquisition will initially have no direct consequences other than the ongoing development of the new iDEAL. We wish our colleagues at Currence iDEAL every success and a bright European future as part of EPI Company.
