European Parliament approves SEPA rules

Cross-border banking transactions are set to become easier as a result of new European rules. The European Parliament today approved new rules for the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which set out common standards for cross-border euro payments.
The new rules will ensure fair competition between banks, eliminate hidden national surcharges and speed up transactions.
