EPI is developing a pan-European payment method based on <em>instant payments<\/em>, for which iDEAL will form the foundation. The acquisition means that ABN AMRO and Rabobank will join ING as Dutch participants in EPI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Dutch consumers and businesses, the acquisition will initially have no direct consequences other than the ongoing development of the new iDEAL.
