Once you\u2019ve enabled this public transit setting for a specific digital payment card on your smartphone, you can use it to check in and out without first unlocking your phone; you can simply hold your smartphone directly from your pocket or bag against the transit card reader, without needing facial recognition, a fingerprint, or a passcode.<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>At HTM in The Hague, this feature is expected to become available sometime in September.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.betaalvereniging.nl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2025\/09\/OVpay-foto-in-uitcheck-mobiel-900x536-1-768x457-1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"Jonge man stapt uit een tram en houdt zijn smartphone tegen de kaartlezer bij de deur om uit te checken. Once enabled, it works only for checking in and out on public transit.
