Developments surrounding the digital euro and cryptocurrencies are moving quickly. Blockchains, bitcoins, dollar-pegged stablecoins, euro-pegged stablecoins, wholesale CBDC, retail digital euro; sometimes it\u2019s hard to see the forest for the trees… For example, the digital euro has recently been incorrectly presented as a good European counterpart to US dollar-pegged stablecoins. However, the digital euro and stablecoins are like apples and oranges; they target different applications and users.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n
