In this Task Force, Ren\u00e9 will work on scenarios for the migration to new standards for cryptography in the payments sector. These new standards are resistant to the threat of quantum computers.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"508\" height=\"91\" src=\"https:\/\/www.betaalvereniging.nl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/04\/logo-footer-epsg.avif\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.betaalvereniging.nl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/04\/logo-footer-epsg.avif 508w, https:\/\/www.betaalvereniging.nl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/04\/logo-footer-epsg-300x54.avif 300w, https:\/\/www.betaalvereniging.nl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2026\/04\/logo-footer-epsg-500x91.avif 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>On behalf of the EPC, Ren\u00e9 Steenbeeke is already a member of the EPSG Security Working Group, that develops European standards for payment security in a broader sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPSG is a European multi-stakeholder organization that develops various standards for card payments and account-to-account transfers within SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area).
