He had become well known as the face of a television commercial promoting online self-defence. People recognised and trusted him. As soon as he suspected an unsafe situation, our clumsy hero intervened decisively. His actions and slogans \u2014 \u201cHang up! Click away! Call your bank!\u201d \u2014 used humour to emphasise how people could defend themselves against online criminals. It was a familiar message presented in a new way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"never-send-your-debit-card\">Never send your debit card!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As fraud figures had fallen sharply in previous years, criminals were looking for new forms of fraud. At the request of the Dutch banks, the Dutch Payments Association focused on one of these forms of fraud in its new campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time, criminals were asking people to send in their debit card. They had often already observed the person entering their PIN on another occasion, or the person had entered it online without realising. Sometimes the criminals asked people to send the PIN together with their debit card.
