The Dutch Payments Association has been actively involved in developing the NextGenPSD2 framework since the initiative began in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"access-to-the-bank-account\">Access to the bank account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PSD2 provisions for \u2018access to the bank account\u2019 form the basis of an entirely new distribution channel for banking services offered through third parties. Some of these services are defined by PSD2 \u2013 payment initiation and account information \u2013 and are available to all licensed payment service providers in Europe. The API distribution channel is increasingly aimed at parties with which a bank enters into a specific service agreement under the broader heading of Open Banking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nextgenpsd2-framework\">NextGenPSD2 framework<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the period ahead, the Berlin Group will use the NextGenPSD2 framework to develop API specifications for market participants \u2013 schemes, banks and processors \u2013 in the context of Open Banking.
