An urgent payment (also known as: New Style Telegiro or Telegiro Nieuwe Stijl/TNS) is a payment order whereby banks prioritise the transfer of an amount from the ordering customer to the beneficiary
The beneficiary is then informed of this by his bank as soon as possible. The Dutch banks have together agreed the conditions under which urgent payments can take place. Account holders can request an urgent payment up to a time predetermined by the bank. The amount will then be transferred to the beneficiary on the same business day, usually within 1.5 hours.
The Payments Association manages the agreements concerning urgent payments, which its members have made with one another and with other parties in the market.
The current list of all the participating banks for urgent payments (TNS) is on the web page in Dutch.
