Annual Report of Social Consultation on Payments to House of Representatives
Finance Minister Weyenberg presented the 2023 annual report of the Maatschappelijk Overleg Betalingsverkeer (MOB) to the Lower House on 24 June.

The MOB annual report reports on social developments in the Dutch collective payment system in 2023. It focuses on cash, accessibility of payment services, efficiency, safety and reliability and European developments.
The MOB annual report also looks to the future, for instance at the possible future introduction of a digital euro. In this regard, the MOB states that it is not yet possible to assess whether a digital euro can provide social added value for the Dutch payment system.
The Payments Association closely follows developments around the digital euro and we participate on behalf of our members in important consultation groups at national and international level. Moreover, we are expanding our expertise in the field of CBDC(Central Bank Digital Currency) and crypto-currencies.
