Giro & Online payments

For giro-based payments, amounts are transferred between bank accounts and thus no cash is exchanged. For example, when an invoice is paid by bank transfer, the debtor (the recipient of the invoice) orders the bank to transfer an amount from the debtor’s account to the bank and the account of the creditor (the sender of the invoice). With regard to collective agreements on giro-based payments, the Payments Association coordinates rules and standards with its members for the payment products and services listed below. It provides the information and manages the mutual agreements.
