All banks in the Netherlands support the Customer-to-Bank XML Implementation Guidelines for the Netherlands
Some banks apply additional specifications for the delivery of payment or debit transactions. For example:
- The maximum number of jobs per file/batch and/or
- The maximum delivery time and/or
- The possibilities of detailed reporting after processing
The banks often clarify these additional specifications in an additional document on the Customer-to-Bank XML Implementation Guidelines.
Companies discuss the technical, operational and/or bank-specific issues with the bank where they (for the first time) submit their payment and/or debt collection transactions.
Companies in the Netherlands can sometimes choose, in consultation with their bank, to send their debit and/or payment orders directly to an Automated Clearing House. This is called 'direct delivery'. We speak of 'multibank delivery' if companies do this for multiple bank accounts at different banks.
