Additional agreements under the Covenant on Cash

The parties to the Covenant on Cash have agreed to continue the covenant with several additional arrangements on indexing cash service fees.

Through the Covenant on Cash , the four major banks, the Dutch Payments Association, representatives of consumers and older people, retailers, hospitality businesses and petrol stations, cash service providers and De Nederlandsche Bank agreed on 7 April 2022 to ensure that cash remains readily available and usable. On 12 June 2023, all parties agreed to continue the covenant with several additional arrangements. These were recorded in an ‘addendum’ to the covenant and concern the indexation of cash service fees.
